The municipality of Los Cabos has long been known as a breeding ground for athletes who have brought honor to Baja California Sur. Currently, 15 cyclists are in the city of Xalapa, Veracruz, representing our municipality in one of the most important sporting events.
It’s the National Track Cycling Cup, and they’re in Xalapa. This competition takes place in an indoor velodrome, one of the best in the country, and it’s their National Cup, in addition to the National Olympics and the CONADE Games. It’s the most important track cycling event at the national level. They’re currently there, having completed three days of competition.
Olachea Arce mentioned that the support provided by the institute has been crucial for all the athletes who attend these types of events, where athletes from Baja California Sur consistently excel.
It’s a support program that includes a round-trip plane ticket from here to Xalapa. It’s worth mentioning that since last year, support has been provided to athletes from the municipality who request it on time and in the proper manner. It’s a reasonable event that they are happy to attend, and we have been supporting them this year. We intend to continue doing so and make it more public.
Olchea Arce mentioned that this discipline, at the state level, produces the most athletes, giving our territory an important position nationally in cycling. Therefore, he stated that there will be no hesitation in continuing to support athletes from Los Cabos.
