With the aim of making daily life easier for families and easing household expenses, the government of Tampico, Tamaulipas, has decided to launch community laundromats and kitchens in different parts of the city.

These new services will be available at two community service centers (TAMULES) located in the northern part of the municipality, spaces that seek to become direct support points for residents.

It should be noted that the authorities specified that the objective would be to help mothers and residents who require affordable options to meet basic needs without leaving their neighborhoods.

Where will the new community laundromats and kitchens be located?

The mayor of Tampico, Mónica Villarreal Anaya, indicated that the facilities will be located at two strategically located community service centers (TAMULES) in the city: the Centenario Community Service Center (TAMULE) in the Tamaulipas neighborhood, and the La Paz Community Service Center (TAMULE).

In both cases, the spaces have been equipped to offer low-cost social laundry and community kitchen services, with the goal of supporting family finances and reducing the time people spend on housework.

The idea is to provide families with a nearby, functional, and accessible space for everyday tasks.

In addition to the kitchen and laundry facilities, the TAMULES will function as community centers, hosting various recreational activities and making use of spaces that were previously unsuitable.

There will be areas for exercise, spaces for libraries and cultural workshops such as painting, music, and dance, as well as areas for vocational training in trades like cooking, sewing, and crafts.

These spaces are also intended to host medical brigades and provide basic care, as well as serve as a meeting point for community mediation.

The project is primarily aimed at families living in these areas, especially mothers who face greater financial and time burdens.

According to the mayor of Tampico, Mónica Villarreal Anaya, these actions seek to improve the quality of life of the population through practical services that are actually used on a daily basis, while strengthening ties between neighbors and promoting closer community coexistence.
