San Miguel de Allende, Gto.- San Miguel de Allende is preparing to experience one of its most emblematic festivities with the LXX edition of the Feria de la Candelaria 2026, a celebration that combines tradition with environmental awareness where locals and visitors will be able to acquire a great diversity of plants while enjoying a rich cultural program.
From January 30 to February 13, Zeferino Gutiérrez Park will be a meeting point for families, visitors and more than 100 local and foreign producers from Puebla and Toluca in a space where artistic expressions, popular knowledge and training activities for all ages converge.
Between rituals, art and workshops, Feria de la Candelaria in San Miguel offers an extensive program
True to its origins, the Feria de la Candelaria preserves deep-rooted symbolic acts such as the Blessing of the Seeds, a ritual that honors the agricultural cycle and the spiritual relationship with the land that will take place on February 2 at 9 o’clock in the morning.
The cultural program includes the presentation of folkloric and children’s ballet, danzón and scenic rituals dedicated to Mother Earth, which fill the venue with color, music and collective memory.
Music occupies a central place with the participation of mariachis, rondallas and San Miguel talent, as well as proposals of traditional Mexican music and contemporary fusions that dialogue with the past without losing validity. Puppet theatre and film screenings will reinforce cultural transmission to new generations through stories, stories and characters.
The fair also integrates an educational and environmental component with talks, workshops and recreational activities that address topics such as caring for the environment, wildlife, compost, urban gardens and the culture of recycling.
