Complaints about slow service, dirty cars, and ventilation problems on the Mexico City Metro

Mexico City Metro users expressed their dissatisfaction this Saturday with slow train speeds, frequent braking, lack of ventilation, and dilapidated cars, according to reports circulating on social media and addressed by the transit system itself.

The complaints were concentrated mainly on Lines 2, B, A, and 8, where passengers reported unusual delays despite the absence of rain or high ridership.

On Line 2, users reported that trains would only advance a few meters before braking abruptly, resulting in journeys of up to half an hour for seven stations. Some passengers also reported problems with the ventilation system, stating that the fans remained on despite the cold weather.

A similar situation was reported on Line B, where commuters complained of frequent stops in the direction of Buenavista. In response to the complaints, the Mexico City Metro stated that it was expediting train traffic and departures from the terminals, and asked passengers to allow doors to close freely.

On Line 8, a passenger reported a train car with accumulated trash on a train heading towards Garibaldi, a situation that contrasted sharply—according to the passenger—with the line’s usual cleanliness. The Metro reported that the complaint was forwarded to the cleaning department for attention.

Meanwhile, on Line A, complaints were received about trains stopping for several minutes without explanation. Although the system did not confirm any major incidents, it indicated that the information was sent to the operations department for verification.

To date, the Mexico City Metro has stated that several lines are operating without serious incidents, although it acknowledged some disruptions to service and assured that the citizen reports were forwarded to the appropriate departments.
