Authorities, former employees, representatives of the Gastronomic Union and even the owner of the Los Arcos hotel, Mario Coppola, went today to check the property.
The strike that around 80 employees of the Los Arcos Hotel, in La Paz, began on November 21, 2008 and continues to this day (with 78 survivors), seems to have no end.
This Thursday, authorities from the various levels of government, former employees, representatives of the Gastronomic Union and even the owner of the hotel, Mario Coppola, went to the building to witness a review of the damage that the building has suffered throughout almost 18 years of strike.
CSP Noticias was at the scene and was able to verify that the positions of the plaintiff and the defendant are still far from an agreement.
While the 78 employees continue to demand the compensation that by law they were entitled to at the time of their dismissal, the lawyer of the Los Arcos Hotel mentions that there is damage to the property that the Gastronomic Union must cover by having possession of the property.

“There is an award to the detriment of the company and if there are damages that are responsible and attributable to the union, they must be compensated… it is the right thing to do and legally, it is the strategy that is being implemented… we are going to continue fighting until the end, for our part we do not bring urgency,” warned José Adán Inzúnza Villarreal, lawyer of the Los Arcos hotel and owner Mario Coppola.
Faced with this situation, once again the representative of the Gastronomic Union Omar Alejandro Orantes, and Francisco Torres, one of the former employees, once again call on the Government of the State of Baja California Sur (BCS) to finally end this problem.
“I ask Mr. Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío to keep his word, he said that he was going to unblock the strike, let him do it! He is about to leave, next year his government ends, and in these five, six, years and only, pure delay,” claimed Francisco Torres, one of the affected former employees of the Los Arcos hotel.
