One of the most important meetings of the wedding industry at an international level arrives in the municipality, supported by AORESMA and state authorities; it also coincides with the opening of the direct Madrid-Guanajuato flight.
an Miguel de Allende, Gto.– The heritage city of San Miguel de Allende will once again be placed on the international map as one of the most coveted destinations for romance tourism with the arrival of the Forever Wedding Summit 2026, a world-class congress that will bring together nearly 500 wedding planners and professionals from the bridal industry from different countries.
The event will take place on April 14, 15 and 16, with this city as its main venue.
The designation of San Miguel de Allende as the headquarters was not accidental. This was explained by Martha Rocío López, president of the Association of Organizers and Venues for Events of San Miguel de Allende (AORESMA) A.C., an organization with more than 12 years of experience in the professionalization of the sector.
He recalled that the city competed directly for the venue during the last edition, held in Monterrey, finally managing to attract the event thanks to the prestige, infrastructure and unique identity that Guanajuato offers.
“The Forever Wedding Summit is a very important international congress, where around 500 high-level wedding planners converge. We will have the presence of Spanish, North American and Mexican professionals, as well as from other countries, and San Miguel de Allende, as the number one city in weddings nationwide, will be the perfect setting,” said López.
The previous edition of the meeting took place in Seville, Spain, a coincidence that reinforces the cultural and tourist ties between the two destinations.
In this context, the president of AORESMA celebrated the recent announcement of the direct Madrid-Guanajuato flight, promoted by Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, considering that it will open new doors for international tourism and for the high-level events industry.
During her speech, the governor stressed that a wedding in San Miguel de Allende goes far beyond the event itself.
“A very important value chain is generated: local suppliers, hotels, transporters, artisans and restaurants benefit, and also those who attend know the surroundings, visit other municipalities and are left wanting to return,” he said.
Libia Dennise emphasized that the visual appeal of the state has turned Guanajuato into a global showcase. “Everything is Instagrammable: a door, a window, an architectural detail.
The photographs of the weddings show the world how wonderful our state is,” he said, noting that the direct flight will make it easier for international agencies to place the destination within their priority routes.

Martha Rocío López stressed that the Forever Wedding Summit will show not only the historic venues and farms, but also the local gastronomy, endemic ingredients, crafts as the heart of the event, Guanajuato wine and artistic talent, including musicians, sculptors and innovative proposals such as artists who paint in watercolor moments of the wedding instead of traditional photographs.
With this event, San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato consolidate their position as international benchmarks for romance tourism, demonstrating that tradition, identity and global projection can coexist in the same scenario.
