Mérida, Yucatán. – The wife of a leader of the Caborca cartel in Chetumal was arrested in Mérida and is accused of dangerous attacks committed against a public servant, bribery, carrying weapons, and prohibited instruments.
A Control Judge issued the order of attachment to the process and imposed preventive detention against Gabriela Alejandra Argáez, 29 years of age, alias “La Patrona,” wife of Valerio “N” alias “Monkey,” alleged leader of a Caborca cell in Chetumal, Quintana Roo.
The woman would have been arrested about 15 days ago, although it was only made known, and would be linked to the massacre that occurred in Dzilam González.
According to the Ministry of Public Security, the judge issued the resolution based on the evidence collected by agents of the State Investigation Police (PEI) of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) and presented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
She is accused of dangerous attacks committed against a public servant, bribery, carrying weapons and prohibited instruments, crimes against health in the form of drug dealing, and damage to other people’s property committed against a public institution.
It was said that “Monkey” used his wife to carry the weapons used by the hitmen to commit the triple homicide in Dzilam González, when they executed the son of “Don Nato”.
The Judge granted a period of three months for the closure of the complementary investigation, after not agreeing to the conditional suspension of the process requested by her lawyers, as the requirements provided for in the National Code of Criminal Procedure were not met, for which the accused will remain in prison.
The SSP said that “at the moment it is not possible to provide more information because the investigations continue.”
The authorities reiterated the call to the public to report any suspicious or illicit situation to the emergency numbers 9-1-1 or the anonymous complaint 089.
