Works exceed 70% in Huatabampito and Empalme.

With a vision that boosts tourism, strengthens the regional economy, and reinforces the identity of coastal communities, Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño consolidates strategic works that transform the Sonoran coast, with advances of more than 70 percent in the Huatabampito boardwalks, in its second stage, and in the new construction in Empalme.

On the Huatabampito boardwalk, which in its first stage required an investment of 100 million pesos, there is a physical progress of 75 percent in construction works of sanitary service modules and deceleration lanes, works aimed at improving the visitor experience and providing decent infrastructure to residents and tourists.

Work was carried out on the placement of cobblestones, installation of signs, completion of the absorption well, placement of sanitary furniture, and the construction of the support for the oval bar.

Among the pending activities are the placement of tiles, pouring of exterior sidewalks, painting of modules, construction of concrete benches, as well as vegetation work with shrubs, which will give identity and functionality to the space.

At the same time, in Playa El Cochórit, Empalme, the construction work of the boardwalk and roads presents a physical progress of 71 percent, with a total investment of 190 million pesos, consolidating itself as a key project for mobility, recreation, and economic development of the region.

On this front, work has already been carried out, such as the casting of sidewalks, construction of steps, irrigation in the road, formation of base layer, earthworks for sidewalks, bicycle path and esplanade, as well as the supply and placement of palm trees and passes for future installations.

The next stages include the placement of cobblestone in the parking lot, concrete curbs, continuation of sidewalks and bike paths, installation of lighting, horizontal and vertical signage, completion of the bathroom module, construction of benches and ramps, in addition to the general cleaning of the area.

As part of this comprehensive coastal development strategy, the Government of Sonora is already preparing the works to begin the construction of a new boardwalk in Guaymas, in which 60 million pesos will be invested, a work that will detonate tourism, reactivate the local economy, and reaffirm the maritime vocation and identity of the region.
