Brugada stressed that in 2025, more than 1,800 housing units were rehabilitated with paint, lighting, and beaconing.

The head of government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada, announced that as part of the Otoch program, this year more than 2,500 housing units of social interest in the country’s capital will benefit.

When delivering the rehabilitation works of three housing units, in the Benito Juárez mayor’s office, the head of government said that in 2025 alone more than 1,800 units were benefited with paintlighting, and beaconing.

This, intending to guarantee peace and the well-being of the population, and reducing inequalities, said the head of government.

“As well as in these housing units, more than 400 painted housing units were intervened, which is very important. In total, there were one thousand 888 housing units, served in 2025. And we intend to serve more than 2,500 housing units by 2026.”

In this sense, the head of government stressed that in recent years, one thousand 200 million pesos have been allocated, the largest budget to give greater maintenance to units; that is, painting facades, rehabilitation of common areas, and attention to water problems.

“In two years, 2025 and 2026, we will have one thousand 200 million pesos, to improve housing units; to do major maintenance, to do minor maintenance, to paint, to fix them. So, we have an important budget, which had not been given in recent years, for the housing units, which include painting, installation of lighting, improvement of stairs, beaconing, and murals are also painted to beautify the environment.”

It is worth mentioning that during the delivery of these improvement works in housing units, the head of government distributed gas and smoke detectors to reduce incidents in Mexico City.
