In an effort to combat forced recruitment and child exploitation, the Public Security Police Station of San Pedro Tlaquepaque managed to protect two minors who were in a vulnerable situation in the vicinity of the New Bus Station.
The discovery occurred during preventive patrols carried out at the intersection of Patria and Las Torres avenues, in Tlaquepaque. According to the official report, the officers of a surveillance unit detected two young people who showed obvious signs of disorientation and nervousness.
What was the situation of minors from other states?
When approached to interview and provide support, the teens revealed that they were not local residents; one of them came from Nayarit and the other from Guerrero.
The deception of fictitious vacancies. Roberto Rodríguez, second commander of the corporation, explained that the young people were at that point after having been contacted through a job offer that turned out to be a deception.
The minors said that their itinerary consisted of arriving in Jalisco and then being transferred in another vehicle to Chilpancingo, Guerrero.
“We saw that these are erroneous job offers in which young people, unfortunately, fall out of necessity or temptation,” said Commander Rodríguez, stressing that this type of hooking is a common modality to attract minors under false promises of income.
Protection protocols activated
After ensuring their physical integrity, the police immediately activated the specialized protocol for the prevention of forced recruitment, notifying the corresponding state authorities to initiate the process of restitution of their rights and contact with their families.
This operation is not an isolated case. According to figures from the corporation, this strategy of permanent surveillance in public transport areas has allowed the care and protection of 75 minors to date, consolidating itself as a critical barrier against criminal groups that seek to take advantage of young people under labor deception.
