Almost 8 thousand daily trips are made by bicycle in San Cristóbal, not only as a recreational activity, but as a means of daily transportation.
San Cristóbal de Las Casas stands out as one of the cities where bicycles are most used in Chiapas, not as a recreational activity, but as a means of daily transportation.
Unlike other cities in the state, in San Cristóbal the bicycle is part of the daily mobility of families, young people, and workers, favored by short distances and a strong neighborhood life.
Faced with this reality, groups and bicycle users promoted the first cycling count in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, a citizen exercise that seeks to generate data on the real use of this means of transport.
The count not only seeks figures, but also to make visible those who share the streets daily by bicycle and who, until now, had not been formally registered.
