The governor of Oaxaca, Salomón Jara Cruz, announced changes in his administration, a relaunch of his government, after “listening to the voice of the people” during the recall referendum.
In this regard, the governor explained that this entails an objective and critical review and evaluation of his cabinet and extended cabinet.
“I am a person who knows how to listen, and I am humble enough to accept that we still have a lot of work to do to meet the expectations of society,” he said at a press conference this past Monday, February 9, 2026.
For all these reasons, Salomón Jara indicated that all officials currently part of his government are subject to scrutiny to assess their performance, and that following this, he will present changes to his cabinet next Wednesday, February 18.
But he also assured that there will not only be changes in the secretariats and public agencies, but that policies, programs, and actions will also be reoriented to focus on addressing the issues and problems that society demands.
“These will not be cosmetic changes, but rather an adjustment in accordance with the demands of the citizens,” he declared.
With all this in mind, the governor of Oaxaca said that for the second phase of his administration, the priority areas will be health, roads, potholes, and public services such as water, street lighting, and transportation management, among others.
In fact, he also said that specific projects will be promoted for urban centers in all regions, with the main objective of modernizing them and boosting their development, adding that these projects “guarantee opportunities for economic growth, infrastructure improvement, and combating insecurity.”
And finally, he said that he will deepen the austerity policy and the fight against corruption.
