A joint operation by state forces, the Army and the National Guard led to the dismantling of a criminal cell linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in the city of Oaxaca, which controlled drug dealing in the area of the Central de Abastos and operated from the Camel II bar, located in the sector known as El Expueblito. on Las Casas Street.

The intervention was the result of intelligence work coordinated by the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Oaxaca and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection.

According to prosecutor Bernardo Rodríguez Alamilla, the analysis of images from the C-5 system made it possible to identify the movements and the meeting point of the members of the group, which resulted in obtaining a court order issued by a judge for high-impact crimes.

During the search of the establishment, the authorities seized firearms, a machine gun, as well as at least 250 doses of cocaine and crystal, in addition to 50 marijuana cigarettes, all packaged with the initials of the CJNG. Also seized were 15 motorcycles and 40 knives, considered part of the criminal group’s logistics.

In the building, 12 minors were rescued, who were victims of prostitution and human trafficking, acts that, according to the authorities, were carried out in direct collaboration with organized crime networks. The deployment forced the temporary closure of roads in the vicinity of the food market to guarantee the safety of the operation.

Municipal President Ray Choagoya confirmed the closure and definitive disqualification of the Camel II bar, as it was indicated as an operational base for the distribution of drugs and other illicit activities. Investigations continue to determine responsibilities and possible links with other criminal structures in the region.
