Mazatlán is ready to receive thousands of national and international visitors during Carnival 2026, ¡Arriba la tambora!, a centennial party that becomes the port’s window to the world.
In a bulletin, it was reported that as part of the promotional actions that have been carried out in recent weeks, the Ministry of Tourism of Sinaloa will hold a Fam Trip from February 12 to 17 with national media to disseminate everything that will happen during the maximum festival of the port.
Mireya Sosa Osuna, Secretary of State Tourism, said that after making a promotional tour of cities such as Chihuahua, Mexico City, Monterrey, Saltillo, Torreón, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, and Guadalajara, now the port will host renowned media to show them the history, magic, and tradition that surround this festival, which this year celebrates its 128th edition.
“In addition to the actions carried out prior to Carnival, we will carry out this Fam Trip with national media. We have prepared a special itinerary for them to know the main tourist attractions of Mazatlan and at the same time live, feel, and enjoy the greatness of the Mazatlan Carnival,” he said.
Among the media that will participate in the Fam Trip are Televisa, Estilo DF, México Desconocido, Mexico Travel Channel, Milenio, Grupo Fórmula, among others.
“Thanks to the support that our governor, Rubén Rocha, has given us, we are being able to do all this promotion for this great destination. He has been very aware of how we are doing and in direct contact, even with some hoteliers. In addition to the Mazatlan Carnival, 12 more carnivals will be held throughout the state,” he emphasized.
And precisely, this weekend, the Carnival of Guamuchil and the Carnival of Pericos will also be held, which are added to the Mazatlan Carnival to strengthen the cultural identity of the entity.
The state official stressed that Carnival is a party that positions Mazatlan as a tourist reference, which, in addition to sharing the history and tradition of the port with thousands of visitors, positively impacts the economy of the state.
There will be six days of music, joy, and tradition in which you can enjoy the performance of an international cast during the coronations, as well as a spectacular parade of allegorical floats along the Malecón.
On Thursday, February 12, the coronation of the King of Carnival will take place at the Teodoro Mariscal Stadium, with the performance of the singer Edén Muñoz; for Friday, February 13, during the coronation of the Queen of the Floral Games, also at the Teodoro Mariscal Stadium, the musical show “I know that you will remember” has been prepared, in tribute to the “King of the Band”, Germán Lizárraga, for his 75 years of career, and to the Sinaloa Symphony Orchestra of the Arts (OSSLA), which celebrates its 25th anniversary.
On Saturday, February 14, the singer Yuridia will be the star voice in the coronation of the Queen of the Carnival, and at the end of her performance, the traditional burning of the Bad Mood and the Naval Combat will take place in the Bay of Olas Altas, a fireworks show that recalls the heroic defense of Mazatlan against the French intervention in 1864.
