Six free talks on sports health, among other topics, will be held on Saturday, February 14, as part of the kit distribution for runners participating in the second edition of the El Heraldo de Tabasco Grand Athletic Race, part of the OEM Running Circuit 2026, on Sunday the 15th.
The talks will take place at the El Heraldo de Tabasco offices, located at Avenida Adolfo Ruiz Cortines 1208 in the Oropeza neighborhood. At 10:00 a.m., QFB Minerva Leticia Flores Gómez will present “Health in Motion: The Importance of Tumor Markers and Timely Checkups.”
Health in Motion: The Importance of Tumor Markers
This talk aims to raise awareness and promote prevention as the best tool for protecting our health.
“Just as we train to strengthen our heart, muscles, and physical endurance, it is also essential to cultivate a culture of prevention through timely medical checkups. Tumor markers are laboratory tools that allow us to detect alterations in the body early, facilitating timely diagnoses and significantly increasing the chances of successful treatment.”
The following topics will be addressed clearly and accessibly:
What are tumor markers?
When are they recommended?
The difference between prevention and diagnosis?
The importance of the clinical laboratory in preventive medicine?
How to combine physical activity and medical checkups for a longer, healthier life?
One hour later, at 11:00 a.m., life coach and marathon runner Delia Cristina Marí Bolio will give the presentation “90% Humidity, 10% Tennis, 100% Coherence. Run and achieve your goal to the finish line.”
At noon, the talk “An Ultramarathoner’s Logbook” will be given by ultramarathon runner Yefri Alegría Sánchez.
Later, at 1:00 p.m., Kevin Bermúdez Feliciano, a registered nurse and chiropractor, will speak on “Injury Prevention in Sports.” Following this, Juan José Godínez Ticante will present “The Use of Natural Remedies in Sports,” and the event will conclude at 3:00 p.m. with “How to Choose the Right Running Shoes,” presented by mountain trail runner Ivette Carpinteyro.
This is an invitation to stop waiting for the perfect moment and start now, demonstrating that the courage to reach the finish line comes from accepting discomfort. Carpinteyro holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Human Resources, and is also a marathon runner.
