In commemoration of Mexican Women’s Day and with the goal of providing spaces that contribute to improving women’s economic empowerment and generating support networks, the “Women Artisans and Entrepreneurs Market” was inaugurated. This initiative, promoted by the state government, took place in the corridor of the Palace of Culture in Chilpancingo.
A press release indicated that the Secretary of Culture of Guerrero, Aída Melina Martínez Rebolledo, highlighted that, through the Gender and Non-Discrimination Unit, this edition of the “Market” features the participation of approximately 30 women, including artisans from the Tierra Caliente, Northern, Costa Chica, and Mountain regions, as well as entrepreneurs from the “United We Are Stronger” Collective from the Central region.
From February 12th to 14th, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., you can find a variety of products including clothing, crochet items, bags, artisanal sweets, candles and flowers, handmade accessories, textiles, silver, palm jewelry, traditional Paraguayan bread, embroidery, shoes, and more.
Presidents included Laura Lizeth Rodríguez Pastor, Head of the Gender and Non-Discrimination Unit; Miriam Jael Calixto Hernández, General Director of Venues and Cultural Development; and Tania Gicel Gómez Mejía, Director of Promotion and Outreach.
