Is Trump considering ground attacks against Mexico and Colombia? ‘Don’t worry,’ he replies

US President Donald Trump was questioned about his future plans after US forces entered Venezuela last January to capture President Nicolás Maduro, who is now detained in New York.

Outside the White House, in a message to the media, Trump was asked if he was considering or planning ground attacks in Mexico, Colombia, or Venezuela.

“Don’t worry about it,” he replied to the reporter.

According to an NBC News report published last November, the Trump administration was considering using force to attack drug trafficking facilities in Mexico. Also, in January, the New York Times revealed that the White House was pressuring the Sheinbaum government to obtain permission for US soldiers to operate in Mexico against the cartels.

This Friday, at a military base in North Carolina, Donald Trump praised the special forces operation that culminated on January 3 with the capture of former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

“What we recently did in Venezuela, nobody had ever seen anything like it,” Trump declared in a speech to troops at Fort Bragg.

The Republican asserted that the assault, which involved the infiltration of several attack helicopters and military transport aircraft into Caracas, “was literally over in a minute.”

“Everyone fled. And that’s what we have. We have the strongest military in the world, by far,” Trump stated.

Maduro and the former Venezuelan first lady, Cilia Flores, were transported that same day to a federal prison in New York, where they await trial on charges of narcoterrorism and conspiracy.

Trump again spoke about the weapons system he has dubbed the “decombulator,” which he claims is a secret development used in the January 3 operation.

“They talk about the decombilator because (the Venezuelan troops) never managed to fire. The Russian (defense) equipment didn’t work. The Chinese equipment didn’t work. Everyone is trying to figure out why it didn’t work. Someday they’ll find out, but it didn’t work. It’s nice to be able to fly without being shot at,” the president commented.
