The Museum of Korean Immigration in Yucatan invites you to commemorate with your community the welcome to the Lunar New Year (Seollal), tomorrow Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in its facilities.

On this day, attendees will be able, in addition to learning about this tradition, to enjoy food and games.

Dolores García Escalante, director of the Korean Immigration Museum, explains that the Lunar New Year has roots in Chinese Confucianism and its official welcome will be this Tuesday 17, a date determined by the second New Moon after the winter solstice.

Due to this counting system, the celebration takes place between the end of January and mid-February.

The cycle that begins in 2026 will remain until February 5, 2027. For the old account of Chinese origin, this year corresponds to the number 4724.
