State and federal authorities have reinforced security operations in Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, in response to the detection of video surveillance equipment illegally installed in different areas.
This equipment is allegedly linked to criminal activities and would be used to monitor the movements of police corporations.
For this reason, federal and state forces intensified coordinated actions to dismantle these unauthorized systems, called “parasitic cameras”.
They are considered a threat to security by facilitating the evasion of official operations.
