The fourth edition of the ABC Art Baja festival promises to be its most ambitious yet. It will take place from March 18 to April 5 in San José del Cabo, Todos Santos, and La Paz, featuring Plataforma ABC, its new flagship fair, which will showcase monumental sculptures, electrifying music, and local circuits that will energize the Baja California cultural scene.
Organized by co-founders Zélika García and Karín Reza, in collaboration with several companies and institutions, the event strengthens regional identity with more than 30 international galleries and local artists, attracting collectors, tourists, and local communities.
At a press conference, Zélika García said: “We are very excited; this is the first time we will present Plataforma ABC, an art and design fair with more than 30 galleries. We will be in San José del Cabo, Todos Santos, and La Paz from March 18 to April 5. We extend this invitation to all participants and the local, national, and international public.” Karín Reza detailed part of the program and commented that art can be a platform for connection and collective learning, emphasizing its importance in fostering dialogue and contributing to community transformation. She highlighted that the creation of Plataforma ABC focuses on the exhibition and sale of art.
“The festival seeks to have a pluralistic and open approach, fostering dialogue between artistic disciplines and practices,” she added.
Alejandro Rivera, representative of the Municipal Tourism Office of Los Cabos and La Paz, emphasized the festival’s impact: “We recognize that it strengthens the cultural identity of the south, as it is a source of inspiration. All of this combines to connect with artists, designers, and promoters, while also attracting visitors, demonstrating that Baja is much more than a destination; we are a state with talent and a vibrant cultural life.”
Rivera said that the festival will take place in three venues and will run for several weeks, “allowing us to diversify our tourism offerings so that visitors don’t just focus on gastronomy, but also enjoy nature and art.”
Asbel Ramírez, the festival director, said it will run for three weeks with the aim of positioning the state as a key meeting point on the national circuit.
Eloísa Hernández, head of public relations for ABC Art Baja, focused on “Sala,” a space for exhibiting and selling the work of 40 independent local, national, and international artists who will showcase pieces with nature-themed themes: landscapes, wildlife, desert, and ocean.
How they have consolidated the art market in the region: “The biggest lesson learned from the three previous editions is to consider the festival as an integral part of the existing ecosystem in Baja California Sur, where there is a strong artistic presence and enormous diversity.
“There is an audience that wants access to more activities that allow them to enjoy and collect pieces, which is why we believe that with Plataforma ABC we can create a meeting point and exhibition space where, in addition to displaying the pieces, they are also available for purchase. The fair is a collaborative, diverse, and extremely enriching space.”
