The City Council has 15 education-related construction projects planned, representing an investment of 22.9 million pesos, which will be carried out throughout this year, announced Mayor Estrella Palacios Domínguez.

After visiting the “Agustín Yañez” kindergarten in the Arboledas 1 subdivision, the Mayor held the Civic Monday program and inaugurated the construction of the school’s perimeter fence.

She indicated that these projects are part of a broader infrastructure plan that her administration will implement this year.

She stated that the projects focus on improving the municipality’s educational infrastructure.

“We are pleased to announce to all Mazatlán residents that we will be undertaking numerous school construction projects this year.”

She commented that the City Council currently has 15 projects planned for schools throughout the city.

The amount to be spent, she recalled, is 22.9 million pesos, a sum approved by members of the municipal council as part of the municipal public works plan.

The mayor assured that all the projects will benefit both urban and rural areas, as they involve schools at different educational levels.

In addition to the construction projects, she mentioned that they provide direct support to schools, including books, paint, and sports equipment.

She specifically acknowledged that they assisted 80 schools with these materials during 2025 and that they aim to continue supporting educational institutions in the municipality this year.

Palacios Domínguez affirmed that education is transformative for the children and youth of the city.

Yesterday, during the Civic Monday program held at the kindergarten in the Arboledas I subdivision, the mayor announced the start of construction on the school’s perimeter fence.

She reported that the project, which cost one million pesos, was undertaken at the request of the school’s administration.
