The Secretariat of Citizen Security reported that during the International Women’s Day march on Avenida Juárez, a group of hooded protesters was detected attempting to damage businesses. They were followed to 5 de Mayo Street, where, after being contained by police and taken to a safe area, several objects that could be used as weapons were confiscated.
Additionally, Metropolitan Police officers formed a containment line to control another group that crossed a gate in the barriers erected outside the Cathedral in the Zócalo. They urged this group to leave the area and avoid causing damage. The Secretariat confirmed that no one was injured.
