The head of the State Infrastructure Commission (CEI), Sonia Carrillo, reported that the State Government has already addressed three bridges damaged by the rains last year in the municipality of Tolimán, while the reconstruction of the El Chilar bridge is the responsibility of the federal government through the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT).
Bridges collapsed in Querétaro due to intense rains in 2025
The official explained that the state intervened on the La Vereda, Nogales, and Casablanca bridges, the latter of which has already been fully restored.
Regarding the El Chilar bridge, Carrillo noted that the federal government publicly committed to addressing it from the beginning of the emergency.
“Since the incident, the federal government committed to doing it. I verified this with the SICT delegate in Querétaro, and he confirmed it to me,” she stated.
Given this situation, he said the state government decided to focus its efforts on the projects that would not be addressed by the federal government, with the goal of advancing the recovery of the damaged infrastructure.
Regarding follow-up with the federal agency, Carrillo mentioned that they have been informed that the funds for the El Chilar bridge have already been allocated and are about to be released.
He added that, in addition to this project, the federal government also has pending work on Federal Highways 120 and 69, which were damaged after the rainy season and are part of the commitments made during the emergency.
