General Secondary School #1 “Constitution of 1917” is preparing for the grand finale of the “Shark Tank Logiciencia” project. This initiative seeks to recognize academic effort and foster an entrepreneurial spirit in the classroom.

Professor Nancy Elizabeth Osornio Hernández shared the details of this competition, which integrates science and business, with ADN Informativo Querétaro and Sociales 3.0.

The competition began with an initial call for 300 students, who passed through two elimination rounds to narrow the field to the 50 students who make up the 10 finalist teams. Regarding the proposals, the professor explained, “They had a month and a half to present their innovations, which could be scientific or technological. They formed teams because they are developing entrepreneurial ventures, seeking to build new things or modify existing objects.”

The event’s format emulates the popular television program, where the students will present their projects to a panel of “Sharks” made up of businesspeople. As she explains, the goal goes beyond academic grades: “We want this effort to be recognized. Beyond parents and students, we want the students to see their work showcased on social media. We want to demonstrate how education fosters entrepreneurship from the secondary level so they can achieve goals beyond just an idea in a book.”

The business panel will not only evaluate the ingenuity of the products but will also award incentives ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 pesos, given in cash or in kind, depending on the sponsors’ decision. The State Secretary of Culture, Ana Paola López Birlain, will participate as a special guest in this day of youth innovation.

The Grand Final will take place on March 19 at 9:00 a.m. at the school. The institution informs that access is limited to the school community, parents, and alumni interested in witnessing the contestants’ talent.
