During the Easter holiday period, Coahuila expects significant tourist activity, driven primarily by religious tourism and the arrival of visitors from neighboring states.

Therefore, Martha Elena Moncada Zertuche, acting head of the Coahuila Tourism Secretariat, highlighted that one of the most representative religious events takes place in Torreón on Good Friday, where the traditional Stations of the Cross procession is held at the Sanctuary of Christ of the Noas, an activity that attracts numerous visitors.

She mentioned that in addition to the religious reenactment, one of the distinctive elements of this celebration is the atmosphere of silence and reflection experienced during the procession, which makes the experience particularly appealing to those who attend.

She indicated that the largest influx of travelers usually begins on Holy Wednesday, when many people start traveling and remain in tourist destinations until Saturday or Sunday.

He noted that while a significant portion of the traffic is regional tourism—people visiting family or returning to their hometowns—these activities also generate economic benefits for restaurants, gas stations, shops, and tourist sites.

He commented that those who visit Coahuila are usually from neighboring states such as Nuevo León, Durango, Tamaulipas, and San Luis Potosí, in addition to tourists traveling within the state to destinations like Arteaga, Parras de la Fuente, and Cuatro Ciénegas.
