Season 15 of Pati’s Mexican Table Will Showcase Coahuila’s Cuisine, Landscapes, and Traditions to an International Audience

The richness of Coahuila’s cuisine, culture, and natural beauty will reach millions of viewers around the world through Season 15 of Pati’s Mexican Table, the acclaimed television series hosted by chef Pati Jinich. The announcement was confirmed by the Coahuila State Tourism Secretariat, which revealed on social media that the state will be the featured destination in the new season, premiering on September 4.

In its announcement, the Tourism Secretariat highlighted that the production offers a valuable opportunity to promote Coahuila’s identity on the international stage.

“Coahuila continues to captivate audiences by sharing its essence with the world,” the agency stated, thanking the production for choosing the state to showcase its cuisine, landscapes, culture, and traditions to a global audience.

As part of the premiere announcement, Pati Jinich shared a message on social media celebrating the 15th anniversary and 15th season of Pati’s Mexican Table, referring to the show as its own “quinceañera.” She also expressed special gratitude to Coahuila for serving as the backdrop for the new season.

“Thank you, Coahuila. What an incredible season this will be!” she wrote, while also recognizing her production team and director José Barrera.

Filming took place between the spring and early summer of this year, during which Jinich and her crew traveled across several regions of the state.

Among the featured destinations is the Cuatro Ciénegas Valley, where the production documented life in the desert and highlighted the work of local producers. During her visit, Jinich learned how traditional cheeses, yogurt, and heritage wheat tortillas are made, sampled freshly harvested aguamiel from maguey plants, and toured ranches that characterize the region.

The itinerary also included the Magic Town of Múzquiz, where she tasted traditional tacos de olla and visited the community of El Nacimiento to spend time with the Mascogo community, descendants of African Americans who escaped slavery in the United States and settled in Coahuila more than a century ago. The program documented their traditions, historical legacy, and traditional cuisine.

In Sabinas, the chef explored the state’s ranching heritage by visiting meat markets and speaking with local butchers about the techniques and traditions that distinguish northern Mexican cuisine. She also sampled some of the region’s signature breakfasts, where tacos take center stage.

The journey concluded in the Southeastern Region of Coahuila with visits to apple and quince orchards in Arteaga, followed by a stop in Ramos Arizpe, where she discovered the popular “Dinoquesadillas,” a local culinary creation that has become a viral attraction among both residents and visitors.

Through this production, Pati Jinich continues her mission of introducing international audiences to lesser-known regions of Mexico by sharing the stories, ingredients, and traditions that reflect the country’s cultural diversity. For Coahuila, participating in the new season represents a significant opportunity to promote its tourism and gastronomy on the global stage.

Who Is Pati Jinich?

With a strong academic background in Political Science and a master’s degree in Latin American Studies, Patricia Jinich made a dramatic career change by leaving her position as a policy analyst at a research institute to dedicate herself entirely to cultural diplomacy through gastronomy.

As the resident chef at the Mexican Cultural Institute in Washington, D.C., Jinich began using the flavors and recipes of her native Mexico not only as food, but also as a powerful medium for historical storytelling and cultural identity. This work laid the foundation for what would become one of the most influential culinary television platforms in the United States.

Her international recognition grew with the launch of Pati’s Mexican Table on PBS (Public Broadcasting Service). Over more than a decade on the air, the program has evolved from a traditional cooking show into a documentary-style travel and culinary anthropology series. Throughout the series, Jinich travels across Mexico, giving a voice to local producers, preserving native ingredients, and challenging stereotypes surrounding Mexican cuisine.

Her work has earned multiple nominations and awards from the prestigious James Beard Foundation, as well as several Emmy Awards, recognizing both her engaging on-screen presence and the quality of her productions.

Beyond entertainment, Jinich’s recent work places a strong emphasis on social issues and border communities, particularly through documentary projects such as La Frontera, where she explores the complexity of binational communities and demonstrates how food serves as a cultural bridge that transcends geopolitical boundaries.

Through her bestselling cookbooks and ongoing editorial contributions, Pati Jinich has established herself as one of Mexico’s most respected cultural ambassadors, transforming gastronomy into a universal language of understanding, appreciation, and mutual respect.
