Bukele responds to Claudia Sheinbaum, the president of Mexico, after her comment that she did not violate human rights and that she was a humanist, alluding to Nayib Bukele.
Sheinbaum:
“He has his policies and we have ours. I believe that authoritarianism and a heavy hand lead to terrible consequences and, in addition, to human rights violations.”
Nayib Bukele doesn’t mince words and said the following:
“When a criminal organization grows unchecked and takes over entire territories, it’s because it has allies in power. His message is direct and forceful: if a government cannot eradicate crime, it’s because crime is already inside the government.”
