Infonavit conducted a working tour of Tapachula, Chiapas, and Cuautla, Morelos, to supervise the progress of construction on housing developments that are part of the Housing for Well-being Program.
In Tapachula, Chiapas, the Institute verified the development of four housing complexes where 2,736 homes are being built. The Infonavit Flora Sur development includes 448 units, while Infonavit Villa de Guadalupe is building 192 homes.
Likewise, the Infonavit El Palmar development comprises 1,808 homes, and Infonavit Akishino is building another 288. Additionally, the Infonavit Magdalena complex is constructing 1,152 more homes within the same municipality.
Later, in Cuautla, Morelos, the delegation visited the Infonavit Plan de Ayala housing development, where 528 homes are being built for the same segment of workers.
During the tour, the Institute reiterated that these homes are intended for beneficiaries with incomes between one and two minimum wages, who will be able to access adequate housing solutions.
Furthermore, it confirmed that the homes in the Housing for Well-being Program have a surface area of at least 60 square meters, a ceiling height of 2.7 meters, and include two bedrooms, a living-dining room, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a service area.
Finally, Octavio Romero Oropeza, Director General of Infonavit, stated that the organization remains focused on expanding access to housing for working families, based on the principle that “housing is a right, not a commodity.”
