During the circular dialogue, authorities from the Tlaxcala Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) reported the suspension of an active officer, identified as Omar “N”, who served as the governor’s bodyguard, following his alleged involvement in a traffic accident in the state of Puebla.

The state agency specified that, to date, it has not received official notification from the corresponding Prosecutor’s Office that would allow it to initiate disciplinary proceedings. However, it indicated that the investigation is ongoing and that the institution will cooperate with the authorities as required.

It was also detailed that the officer remains assigned to the force, albeit under a special administrative status, while legal and administrative responsibilities are determined. Should any irregularity be confirmed, the internal process would be carried out through the Secretariat of Internal Affairs.

The head of the SSC (Secretariat of Citizen Security), Martín Perea, stated that there is a willingness to collaborate with the Puebla government in clarifying the facts, and emphasized that the case will be handled without preferential treatment.

According to reports, the person responsible was identified as Omar N., 42, an active member of the State Police assigned as an escort, who was driving a gray Toyota Camry with license plate XUH-527-D, owned by the Tlaxcala State Government.

According to official reports, the driver was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, which occurred on the morning of Sunday, March 22, on the Mexico-Puebla highway, near the FINSA industrial park.

The accident resulted in two injuries and significant property damage. The case has been turned over to the appropriate authorities, who will determine the legal status of the officer involved.
