The city of Tampico was among the Mexican cities with the most competitive prices for regular gasoline (Magna). The Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) highlighted a local service station with the most affordable price per liter for the general public, following the latest verification by its staff.

This station, part of the Pemex franchise network included in the list published on the “Who’s Who” platform and whose data was presented at the morning press conference at the National Palace, was rated as having fair prices. It should be noted that in this state, all service stations sell gasoline for less than 24 pesos per liter.

This particular gas station is located at Avenida Hidalgo 3201. The price per liter was found to be 23.59 pesos, the cheapest in the northeastern region of the country. This ranking is based on the program, which includes eight groups of states and aims to provide the public with information on the gasoline sector across all its brands.

Regarding this fuel, residents of the municipality of Acolman, in the State of Mexico, purchased it for 23.12 pesos, the lowest price in the nation.

The Tampico price represented a margin of 1.77 pesos, similar to that registered by another Pemex station in Durango, although in this respect, the margin was lower in Veracruz, at 1.75 pesos.

It should be noted that Tamaulipas, according to data from the National Energy Commission (CNE), has the most competitive average fuel price in Mexico, around 21.90 pesos per liter, resulting from lower costs for businesses in the marketing, transportation, and distribution carried out by the public company.

In this town there are 625 stations, distributed as follows: 66 percent belong to Pemex, while the remainder belong to Mexican and foreign franchises with different brands.
