What truckers and farmers are demanding to avoid the massive blockade
This truckers’ strike was called by the National Association of Truckers (ANTAC) and the National Front for the Rescue of Mexican Agriculture (FNRCM) because they face various problems and demand that the authorities listen to them. They accuse the authorities of ignoring these obstacles that are affecting them and are becoming increasingly numerous.
David Estévez Gamboa, national president of the National Association of Carriers, pointed out that the insecurity on highways and main roads, which has led to accidents and extortion, as well as the rise in transportation and fuel prices, continues without any proposals for solutions or solutions.
To all this is added the activation of the Special Tax on Production and Services (IEPS), which will cause costs to rise even further, potentially exceeding 40 pesos per liter, Estévez asserted.
