This morning, personnel from the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP), during search operations at the Cahuaré dock in Chiapa de Corzo, found the body of a young man who had disappeared last Saturday at the Trizarán dock in the waters of the Grijalva River.
Bryan Javier “N”, 28 years old, from Mexico City, disappeared Saturday afternoon after entering the Grijalva River with another person. Despite rescue attempts, only his companion managed to get out.

Bryan was one of the thousands of visitors who arrived in the state this Holy Week to explore the tourist sites that Chiapas offers.
According to emergency and civil protection agencies in Chiapas, a total of 251,558 visitors entered the state during this holiday period, along with 29,378 private vehicles.

The entry of 8,331 public transportation units was also reported. The overall tally shows 22 medical emergencies, one traffic incident attended to, 26 water rescues, and five people injured between March 27 and April 5.
Schools in the state are still on vacation, so emergency authorities are urging everyone to take extra precautions to prevent fatal accidents in the coming days.
