The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Corruption obtained a formal indictment against Jorge N., Juan N., Martha N., and Alondra N., public servants of a municipal security agency, for their alleged responsibility in abuse of authority and crimes committed in the administration of justice.
The events occurred on January 12, 2026, following a collision between two vehicles in the southern hotel zone of Puerto Vallarta, in which both drivers were injured and lost consciousness.
According to the investigation, the officers failed to arrest one of the individuals involved, did not administer breathalyzer or drug tests, and did not collect witness statements, which allegedly favored one of the parties and compromised the clarification of the case.
The judge ordered the following precautionary measures: a six-month suspension from their positions, a restraining order prohibiting them from approaching victims and witnesses, and restrictions on going to certain locations.
