The Oaxaca State Attorney General’s Office (FGEO) dismantled the “La Mami” gang, dedicated to robbing bank customers in Oaxaca and Chiapas.
As a result of intelligence work in the town of Los Amates, Chiapas, three members of the gang were located and arrested after being identified as participants in the robbery of 2.6 million pesos at the entrance of a bank located in the western part of the state capital.
State Attorney General Bernardo Rodríguez Alamilla announced the arrest of the alleged perpetrators, Alan J.G., Gerardo B.L., and Julio César H.S., who were attempting to hide in the neighboring state.
After analyzing video footage and C5i surveillance, authorities established the criminals’ escape routes on March 30.
Following the million-peso robbery, an operation was launched by the Municipal Police, State Police, and the State Investigation Agency. However, at that time, the perpetrators were not apprehended.
As a result of coordinated efforts, two participants were arrested in Oaxaca, while through institutional collaboration with the Chiapas Attorney General’s Office, three more were captured in that state. These three operated under the name “Los Viejones.” All were turned over to the appropriate prosecuting authority, which will determine their legal status in accordance with the law.
