Remember the “republican austerity” speech? It seems that for some in Morena, it was just a campaign slogan. While you’re counting your pesos until payday, they’re living the dream in pounds sterling.
The banner in the photo doesn’t lie and summarizes two cases of arrogance and nepotism that we shouldn’t forget:
THE ARROGANCE OF JOSEFA GONZÁLEZ BLANCO: In an act of pure hubris, the then Secretary of the Environment stopped a commercial flight to make it wait for her. She affected dozens of passengers for a personal whim! The punishment? She resigned… and was rewarded with the position of Ambassador of Mexico to the United Kingdom. What a “sanction”! And they put her in charge of hosting her boss’s son.
THE NEPOTISM OF MARCELO EBRARD AND HIS SON: It turns out that the brand-new Ambassador (Josefa) “lent” the Embassy in London to the son of her then-boss, Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard. The young man lived there for six months in complete luxury, and of course, all expenses were paid for by your taxes.
How wonderful is the lifestyle in London!
