So far in April, according to the Missing Persons Unit of the Oaxaca Attorney General’s Office, 12 women have disappeared and remain missing in Oaxaca, most of them under 18 years of age.
From April 1st to 19th, 2026 alone, the Search Unit registered 11 missing women in the state of Oaxaca; most are concentrated in the Central Valleys region with at least four cases, followed by the Isthmus of Tehuantepec with three disappearances, two in the Tehuantepec region, one on the Coast, and one in the Mixteca region.
Of the reported cases, eight are minors under 18 years of age: Jarelin Vega Agustín from San Felipe de Díaz, Tuxtepec, and Nia Yamel Rodríguez Roque from Santa María Cortijo, both 12 years old, who disappeared in April; Leslye Yamilet Vega Agustín, 14 years old, from San Felipe de Díaz, Tuxtepec, and Nahomi Jolet Cruz Matuz, 15 years old, were last seen in Santo Domingo Petapa, Tehuantepec.
Two other 16-year-olds are also missing: Lesly Sofía Mases Burgua from San Mateo del Mar, Tehuantepec, and Lizbeth América García Figueroa, who disappeared on March 25 in Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán, but whose missing person report was not activated until April 17.
Zauly Alexandra Arango Santiago, 17 years old, is also missing; she was last seen on April 16 in San Agustín de las Juntas. And María Candelaria de la Cruz Carmona, 19 years old, from Santo Domingo Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, was with her son, Ian Jiménez de la Cruz.
Two other women are missing: Margarita González Moreno, 29, last seen on Boulevard Flor de Piña in San Juan Bautista Tuxtepec, and Leslie Peral Cruz, 25, who has not been seen since April 8 in the Montoya neighborhood of Oaxaca de Juárez, Oaxaca.
Concepción Velásquez Avendaño, 56, disappeared on April 17 in Villa de Etla. And Lucia Zenaida Santiago Bautista, 70, disappeared on April 3 in Yucunino de Guerrero, in the municipality of Santiago Nuyoo, Tlaxiaco.
According to the feminist organization Consorcio Oaxaca, from January 1st to April 13th, there are 129 missing persons reports for women issued by the Missing Persons Unit (DNOL) of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Oaxaca (FGE).
