Following the violent incidents in various locations in Nayarit, which included road blockades and the burning of vehicles, the Jalisco government reported that it is maintaining surveillance and security measures in the areas bordering both states.

“Convoy patrols by the Jalisco Police, the National Guard, and the State Defense Forces are continuing in the border areas with Nayarit. Checkpoints are also in place. Additionally, patrols are being conducted in the Valles Region, both by air and land, and on the North Coast, in Puerto Vallarta,” the Jalisco Ministry of Security stated.

For its part, the General Strategic Coordination confirmed that, as of 5:00 p.m., no violent incidents related to the situation in the neighboring state had been reported in Jalisco. Authorities emphasized that monitoring is ongoing and in close coordination with federal agencies.

Unofficially, it was reported that an alert code has been implemented in Jalisco. This measure does not imply the activation of a Code Red, like the one implemented on February 22nd, but rather a preventative protocol aimed at strengthening the response capacity of security forces to any incident that may occur.

According to preliminary reports, the violent events in Nayarit stem from the arrest of Audias Silva Flores, alias “El Jardinero” (The Gardener), identified as one of the regional leaders linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, who was also wanted by U.S. authorities. This situation is believed to have triggered criminal activity in various parts of the state.

The Jalisco government reiterated that it will continue its surveillance and inter-institutional coordination efforts to guarantee the safety of the population and maintain stability in the region.
