The DEA arrived in the state of Sinaloa and landed at a private airport with several agents from the United States.
In the early hours of this morning, it was reported that a private plane landed in Sinaloa. The apparent target was the current Governor, Rocha Moya, whom the U.S. government accuses of belonging to and leading a criminal organization called the Sinaloa Cartel.
The governor tweeted, “If I fall, we all fall,” referring to his party members and possibly former President López Obrador.
At this time, bilateral relations between the U.S. and Mexico are extremely tense. There is no precedent for the neighboring country formally accusing a sitting Mexican governor of terrorism and drug trafficking.
