Puerto Escondido is one of the most sought-after destinations for those who want to connect with nature, enjoy the tranquility of its sunsets, or experience the thrill of surfing. This positioning has been recognized by TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best 2026, ranking it fifth among trending destinations worldwide.
During the Tianguis Turístico de México 2026, the state Secretary of Tourism, Saymi Pineda Velasco, explained that the complete list includes 25 destinations worldwide, selected based on searches conducted by more than 300 million users of the platform, making Puerto Escondido the only Mexican destination on this list.
⇒ This award, presented by TripAdvisor’s Principal Client Partner, Tatiana Páez, recognizes the daily efforts of everyone involved in Puerto Escondido’s tourism value chain, as well as the collaborative work to consolidate its position in the global market.
The Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best awards recognize destinations, hotels, restaurants, things to do, and travelers’ favorites, based on reviews and comments collected on the TripAdvisor platform.
The awards ceremony took place during the 50th edition of the Tianguis Turístico de México, held in Acapulco. Also present at the event were Yadira Ibeth González, Tourism Councilor of Puerto Escondido, and Pamela Margarita Gutiérrez, Municipal Director of Tourism.
