The parish priest commented that the feast in honor of the Holy Cross is one of the most important in the community, and the participation of the guilds is fundamental, which is why he took it upon himself to invite all the groups to participate.
He explained that on May 3, the Day of the Holy Cross, there will be a procession at 10:00 a.m. with the image of the Holy Cross, departing from the Chapel of the Holy Cross and proceeding to the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. At 11:00 a.m., there will be Mass at the latter church, followed by a break.
The processions will resume at 5:00 p.m. with the procession of the Children and Adolescents’ Guild from the Chapel of the Holy Cross to the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and at its conclusion, at 6:00 p.m., there will be Mass.
On May 4, the Fishermen’s Guild will participate. At 8:00 a.m., the Virgin of Chuiná will be received, followed by a procession at 9:00 a.m. and Mass at 11:00 a.m. Afterward, a boat procession will take place on the estuary with the Holy Cross, the Virgin of Chuiná, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the Virgin of Carmen.
On May 5, the Cattle Ranchers’ Guild will participate; on May 6, the Pérez Maldonado Sisters’ Guild; on May 7, the Teachers’ Guild; on May 8, the Rivero Perera Family Guild; on May 9, the Merchants’ Guild; on May 10, the Mothers’ Guild; and on May 11, the Motorcycle Taxi Drivers’ Guild, with a closing Mass officiated by the parish priest.
