The boost to air connectivity in Puebla is gaining momentum with the opening of 12 new routes by Volaris from Hermanos Serdán International Airport, starting June 1st and 2nd. This is thanks to an incentive program implemented by the Olmeca-Maya-Mexica Airport, Railway, and Auxiliary Services Group, which includes reductions of up to 40% in the Airport Use Fee during the first year.
This expansion will connect Puebla with domestic destinations such as Aguascalientes, León, San Luis Potosí, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Villahermosa, Huatulco, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, and Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, as well as international routes to Houston, Los Angeles, and New York, thus promoting tourism and the movement of people.
In ongoing coordination with the federal government, led by President Claudia Sheinbaum, and the Ministry of Tourism, headed by Josefina Rodríguez, Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier has prioritized strengthening air connectivity as a strategic pillar for the state’s economic and tourism development.
The plan also includes discounts on airport services, baggage inspection, and space rentals for up to three years for airlines that open new routes or increase frequencies, with the goal of incentivizing air operations in the state.
With these actions, the Government of Puebla reaffirms its commitment to promoting public policies focused on competitiveness, regional development, and strengthening the tourism sector through improved connectivity.
