The tourism policy implemented by Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda continues to yield impressive results. Since the beginning of the year, the comprehensive strategy of promotion, destination development, and event creation has resulted in high levels of tourist occupancy, positioning the state as one of the most dynamic destinations in the country.

In this regard, the State Secretary of Tourism, Simón Quiñones Orozco, reported that as of Sunday, May 3, 2026, Guerrero registered an overall average hotel occupancy rate of 96.1%, highlighting the strong performance of its main tourist destinations.

He specified that Acapulco reported an average occupancy rate of 97.8%, with areas such as Diamante at 96.4%, Dorada at 99.0%, and Bahía Histórica at 96.7%, reflecting a solid and sustained recovery that maintains its position as one of the most important beach destinations in the country.

He also noted that Taxco de Alarcón achieved 100% hotel occupancy, driven by the success of the Taco Festival, an event that concluded as part of the closing of the 50th edition of the Tianguis Turístico de México 2016, held in Guerrero, confirming its ability to attract tourism through its rich cultural and gastronomic offerings.

He added that other destinations also registered outstanding figures, exceeding expectations: Ixtapa reached 96.9%, while La Unión reported 76.1%, demonstrating the diversity and strength of the state’s tourism offerings.

The head of the Ministry of Tourism emphasized that these results are the product of a continuous tourism agenda that promotes events, conferences, and shows, encouraging visitors throughout the year and consolidating Guerrero as a competitive destination at the national and international levels.
