The coalition of groups, called NARCOPOLÍTICOS, filed a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) against Rubén Rocha Moya, the governor of Sinaloa on temporary leave, and 55 politicians from the Morena party, for allegedly obtaining support from drug trafficking groups during the 2021 elections in that state and for aiding the ‘Los Chapitos’ cartel, which would have had serious consequences for the population.

The organization, comprised of the groups Defensorxs, Pie de Nota, and Óscar Balderas, stated on its social media account that the complaint also includes the 10 officials who were sanctioned by the United States, along with Rocha Moya.

“Today we denounce Rubén Rocha Moya and 55 other narco-politicians. All of them were involved in or benefited from Morena’s narco-election in Sinaloa in 2021.

“Afterward, they handed the state over to Los Chapitos, with terrible consequences for the people of Sinaloa. We also denounce the 10 officials indicted by the US,” reads the social media post.

According to the post, the complaint includes Ricardo Velarde, former Secretary of Economy of Sinaloa, whom they accuse of operating businesses where “they sell drugs, store weapons, and make young people disappear, like Carlos Emilio, son of Brenda Valgil.”

Quirino Ordaz, former PRI governor and current Mexican consul in Spain, is also named. The group maintains that police officers under his command “kidnapped election operatives” during those elections.

The accusation includes 17 Morena mayors, 23 state representatives, and five federal representatives who, according to the post, They benefited from the electoral operation orchestrated by “Los Chapitos” on that day.

The coalition requested that Defensorxs be recognized as victims, with the aim of participating in the investigation and preventing authorities from acting “in the shadows and protecting the implicated officials.”

They argue that structural corruption, armed electoral fraud, and systemic impunity affect the entire population, violating the right to live in an environment “free from violence and corruption, and to freely elect our leaders.”

In their statement, the collective announced that in the coming days they will file complaints against alleged “narco-politicians” from other parties.

They accused Alejandro Moreno Cárdenas, current senator and national leader of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), of continuing to cover up for narco-politicians, including Adrián de la Garza, who is also under investigation by the United States.

“In the coming days, we will also file complaints against narco-politicians.” from other parties. Despite the fact that @alitomorenoc has become one of the main voices of opposition against Morena’s narco-politics, he continues to cover up for narco-politicians, also investigated by the United States, such as @AdrianDeLaGarza,” he concluded.
