The state government’s participation in the Mexican Trade Mission to Canada strengthened its international presence by promoting investment projects and collaboration opportunities in strategic sectors such as electromobility, energy, pharmaceuticals, and construction, with the goal of expanding the state’s economic and technological development. The meeting was led by the Secretary of Economy of the Mexican Government, Marcelo Ebrard.
The Secretary of Economic Development and Labor, Víctor Gabriel Chedraui, reported that the Undersecretary of Industry and Commerce, Mónica Barrientos Sánchez, attended on behalf of the Government of Puebla and participated in connecting with investors in Toronto. There, Mexican officials and Canadian business leaders held meetings focused on innovation, trade, and economic integration that will foster new opportunities for both nations.
He noted that Puebla developed a networking agenda with leading Canadian companies and business organizations, which strengthened cooperation in priority areas for the state’s industrial growth. The delegation from Puebla toured Electrovaya, an international leader in battery innovation and development, to learn about technological models applicable to the electromobility and advanced manufacturing industries.
The trade mission facilitated broader institutional dialogue between Mexican and Canadian authorities, led by Secretary of Economy Marcelo Ebrard and Canadian Minister Dominic LeBlanc, who reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and consolidating a competitive and resilient North American economy.
Finally, Víctor Gabriel Chedraui emphasized that the Government of Puebla maintains a strategy focused on consolidating investment, innovation, and international cooperation as tools for generating jobs and sustainable economic growth. He indicated that the bilateral relationship between Canada and Mexico presents an opportunity for Puebla to strengthen its position in strategic value chains, capitalize on the relocation of investments, and participate in high-impact projects related to technology, infrastructure, and industrial development in North America.
