Cecilia Osuna Guerrero, president of the Mazatlán chapter of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac), assessed the weekend’s positive business for establishments across various sectors of the city.

“Restaurants in different parts of the city reported very good results, including those in the Historic Center, the Marina area, the Golden Zone, and other locations outside the tourist zones. Restaurateurs were very pleased with the results; some even reported record sales on Sunday, mainly due to the high number of advance reservations.”

Osuna Guerrero also noted that some people arrived last minute without reservations and found no tables available.

“When diners arrived, they found no tables left. This indicates a very positive response from both locals and visitors to celebrate such an important date in Mexico.”

Last weekend, Mother’s Day celebrations became one of the most profitable of the year for Mazatlán’s restaurant sector, with establishments reporting record sales on Sunday, May 10th.

Osuna Guerrero stated that the food service sector reported full occupancy of all available tables and advance reservations.

Given the positive momentum from this holiday weekend and other successful weekends for the destination, he expressed his hope that this positive trend will continue.

“We want Mazatlán to maintain this momentum and positive energy in the tourism and restaurant sector. May there be more good weekends like this one,” he concluded in his weekend summary for the food and beverage sector, which he represents through Canirac (National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry).
