Authorities in Puerto Peñasco warned beachgoers after a significant increase in stingray attacks was recorded over the weekend.

According to the Tourist Assistance Unit, 96 people were treated for stingray stings, three of whom had to be taken to a hospital due to complications.

📌 Cases reported:
▪️ Friday: 13 attacks
▪️ Saturday: 42 attacks
▪️ Sunday: 41 attacks

Authorities indicated that many visitors are unaware of the risk posed by these marine animals, despite the presence of warning signs at several beaches.

🚑 Paramedics and students from the Technological University of Puerto Peñasco assisted in treating those affected, most of whom did not sustain serious injuries.

⚠️ Bathers are advised to:
✅ Shuffle their feet in the water
✅ Avoid deep areas or areas with poor visibility
✅ Heed warning signs
✅ Report any incident immediately
