The legislator demands punishment for ties to drug trafficking in Sinaloa, an end to the electoral use of social programs, and a halt to the judicial offensive against state governments fighting crime.
In a high-impact statement for the national agenda, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Kenia López Rabadán, defined a clear institutional position regarding the governance crisis in several states. The congresswoman drew an irreconcilable contrast between the administration of Maru Campos in Chihuahua and that of Rubén Rocha Moya in Sinaloa.
López Rabadán was incisive in pointing out that the impeachment process is being distorted. According to the legislator, while in Chihuahua there is a “frontal fight” against criminal structures under the command of Maru Campos, in Sinaloa serious allegations persist pointing to collusion with organized crime.
“Impeachment proceedings are for corrupt officials, like those in Sinaloa, who are accused of having ties to drug trafficking. Let me be clear: Governor Maru Campos is an example of a direct fight against drug trafficking,” she declared.
For the Speaker of the House, the political and judicial pressure exerted against the Chihuahua government is not an exercise in justice, but rather a distraction tactic. She labeled Campos’s detractors as “narco-cover-ups” who seek to protect their own complicity by persecuting those who are delivering results in security.
Finally, the congresswoman made a strong appeal to safeguard the country’s social policies. She denounced the fact that the government apparatus is more preoccupied with using social programs for electoral purposes than with resolving criminal infiltration at the state level, demanding that legislative priority be focused on holding officials with proven criminal links accountable.
