A “rainbow flight” from Paris lands in Mexico; it seeks to raise awareness of the fight against LGBT+ discrimination.

On the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOT) this May 17, a “rainbow flight” from Paris, France, landed at Mexico City International Airport (AICM).

The French Ambassador to Mexico, Delphine Borione, attended the reception for the passengers of Air France-KLM flight AF0178 on Friday, which featured mariachi music and a photo opportunity.

Among those on the “rainbow flight” were Éric Martineau, Member of Parliament and President of the LGBTQI+ Rights Committee in the French Parliament; Laurent Lafontan, Captain and Director of Operations at Air France; Arnaud Hadrys, President of Personn’Ailes; and representatives from L’Autre Cercle and Transavia.

“As a visible symbol of equality, the group will operate seven ‘Rainbow’ flights dedicated to raising awareness of the fight against LGBT+ discrimination,” it was highlighted.

As part of this activity, a binational panel was held this Saturday where leaders of Mexican and French companies discussed corporate policies on diversity and inclusion.

L’Autre Cercle is the leading French non-profit organization for LGBTQI+ inclusion in the workplace in France. A letter was also signed to guarantee “an inclusive work environment, free from discrimination and respectful of sexual and gender diversity.”
