Sonora continues to position itself as a national and international benchmark for industrial expansion. Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño announced an investment of 725 million pesos by GE Aerospace for its plant in Hermosillo.

These funds will be allocated to the acquisition of high-precision machinery, tools, and equipment, as well as facility upgrades designed to bolster productive capacity, efficiency, and quality standards for the benefit of the workforce.

“This announcement positions Sonora as a national leader in attracting investment and fostering industrial growth. My administration will serve as a facilitator for investments that generate well-being through well-paid jobs,” stated Durazo Montaño.

Between 2025 and 2026, GE Aerospace has committed over 1.2 billion pesos to the state. This investment strengthens the competitiveness of the aerospace sector while driving specialized job creation, technological innovation, and economic development. GE Aerospace—a specialist in aerospace propulsion, services, and systems—demonstrates the industry’s confidence in the state’s economic promotion initiatives.
