Tourists traveling to Mexico for the 2026 World Cup now have a new tool to help them explore the country beyond the matches. The app is called México Invita.
This platform will connect national and international visitors with tourist routes, transportation options, cultural activities, and food recommendations across Mexico during the World Cup.
What is México Invita and what information does it include?
The federal government launched the México Invita app to encourage both visitors and residents to travel throughout the country during the tournament.
According to the Mexican Ministry of Tourism, the app aims to boost economic activity in all 32 states by promoting Mexico’s cultural, gastronomic, and tourism attractions.
On May 21, Tourism Secretary Josefina Rodríguez Zamora and Digital Transformation Agency head José Antonio Peña Merino officially presented the mobile application.
The app includes:

- Information about the World Cup host cities: Mexico City, Jalisco, and Nuevo León
- Transportation and mobility options
- Train ticket purchases for the Tren Maya

The platform will also feature tourist routes connecting travelers to destinations beyond the World Cup host cities.
More than 290 tourist routes and Magical Towns
México Invita includes more than 290 tourist routes, with recommendations from the Ministry of Tourism to help visitors discover:
- Pueblos Mágicos
- Local gastronomy
- Traditional crafts
- Cultural attractions
Tourism Secretary Josefina Rodríguez explained that the app will allow visitors to explore Mexico in a safer, more practical, and more connected way.
The app will remain after the World Cup
José Peña Merino explained that México Invita will continue operating after the World Cup as a permanent tourism application to promote destinations across the country.
In addition to World Cup match and stadium information, the app offers tools for discovering cultural spaces, public attractions, and culinary experiences inside and outside the host cities.

The app is available in both Spanish and English for iOS and Android devices.
